Tryouts & UPDATES

ATTENTION: Students should only tryout if they are able to make the time commitment for this sport. Girls with unreliable rides, unreliable schedules, or poor attendance should not tyrout. Being late is not accetpable.

 

Absences and constant tardies will result in being pulled from stunt

groups, rounds, and removal from the team. Not having a

ride will not be excused, being schedule for work is not excused. 

The girls in this program work hard and we will not see the progress

we need to make if there are constant absences and tardies.

This is a team sport, every member is expected to do their part. 

 

Tryout Dates and Times 

Try out clinic: Monday 11/10 5pm-7pm 

You will sign up for a tryout time slot for 11/11 (times vary from 2:45-7pm)

Mandatory parent meeting will be held following tryouts

Thursday 11/13 at 6:30 pm (practice is 4:30-6:30) 

There are mandatory fees that can be found in the tryout

packet (found in main office CV9 or Athletic office CVHS main) 

 

What do you need for Tryouts 

• Tryout packet signed (go to forms page) 

• Print out of current grades or be ready to show grades

 

What will you be scored on?

• Tryout cheer (taught at the tryout)- voice, motion placement, knowledge

• Jumps- height, leg placement, form

• Tumble skills (if any) backbend, back walkover, backhandspring, tuck, aerial, running tumbling 

• Splits- flexibility and form

• Heel stretch- flexibility, leg placement, and form

• *Stunting position is not a score but is considered for team placement if there is a need for a specific position

Tryout expectations: 

• Bring enough water for the entire practice.  

• Show up dressed for each day & on time

• All jewelry off NO EXCEPTIONS, expect this at all practices

• Be respectful of coaching staff and others, we will not place you on a team if you have an attitude or show rude behavior. We have cut girls from teams due to behavior even if they cheered the previous season

• Coaches are watching from the moment you enter until you leave. Your behavior and attitude will impact your team placement.

• Parents are not to enter the practice space

• DO NOT contact coaches about team placement until 24 hours after placements have been made. We will not respond to such emails.
